( January 1, 2006 ) - International Contortion Convention 2006 news
Dear Friends,

I guess the news has already spread. Another ICC is on its way !

As per our original promise and tradition, the ICC 2006 will be in the States again, namely in Las Vegas, the international capital of Entertainment.

And yes - we will entertain you with our new concept of less discussions and more workshops and shows.

Already at this moment it looks as if we are going to have 3 shows in order to cope with all the potential of  artists and performances we can present to you.

We´ll be there : Katharina & Alexis

The location is also already booked. Have a look at:

Sams Town Hotel & Casino - http://www.samstownlv.com/

The hotel offered us very good conditions for our guests and for the activities we have planned.

Although it is not on the Strip it is overall a very good choice. The whole setting is very nice with lots of different restaurants and places. The rooms have all been redecorated recently. There are shuttle busses to commute from and to the airport and to the Strip every hour of the day.

I´ll be there : Vanessa

And last - but not least - we got a very good room rate for our participants : It will be 69,- US$ for a Single or Double room per night. Families may ask for an additional bed to be put into the room for a little extra charge.

Booking details will be published in a few weeks. Please note though, that – in order to get the reduced fare - all bookings have to be made mentioning the event name "ICC 2006".

For those who have been sharing this event with us over the last years it will be nice to hear that Klaus Bischoff is again on the boat with me planning and organizing this event. I am extremely happy about this, because we seem to be a good team for these tasks, which are getting bigger and better each time.

Now let's look a little closer into the schedule we are planning to offer to you this time:

Over the recent ICCs we have learned, that our ICC attendees were tremendously interested in practising of stretching and contortion. Many of our former participants were doing stretching and/or yoga themselves. Therefore we will offer more workshops and classes for those who want to physically participate in any such activity. In the past we had these actvities more as a side program. This time we will focus on offering various and different training techniques and ‘philosophies’ as a main item on the agenda during this three-day-event.

At the same time we have experienced that there is a huge interest in a more specialized and more detailed chance for photosessions with contortion artists. Some have favourite performers and would like to take more personalized photos of their ‘stars’. Upon request we will organize single or group photosessions with those artists, who are happy to join this extra activity.

I´ll be there : Virginia

I´ll be there : Pina Conti

On the show side, we can already promise that you will see many new – yet already very progressed - talents.

Our first show will be featuring a group of young artists from Pennsylvania (10 to 12 young performers) in a show full of pictures, dance, harmony and of course contortion. (More details soon)

And obviously you will be able to see a lot of professional contortion artists too. Artists you have always wanted to see live…… once in your life!

So keep tuned with us. From now on  we will be updating this page on a regular basis with new information on the upcoming, wonderful and great next International Contortion Convention 2006.

Warmest regards,

Ska von Schöning
