( April 9, 2011 ) - International Contortion Convention 2011 Previous post Next post

Dear Friends,

again there is so much exiting news for you. Cirque du Soleil
will be joining us again with various activities. As over the recent years we will be honored to welcome some of their talent scouts and we will receive special offers for tickets for their Vegas shows. Angelique - a long time contortion coach of Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas and her team have also confirmed that they will be holding workshops again.

You will get a detailed introduction of all the coaches for contortion and other workshops and presentations in one of our next updates.

We have also been in contact with world famous contortionist Jonathan Nosan who is also joining us for our event. Jonathan  is now working as a contortion trainer in his own studio in the New York area and will present his work and hold workshops.

We are so proud to be able to say : Nowhere in the world will you get such an amazing variety of first class international coaches for the art of contortion - all gathered at one event. So we hope you will take advantage out of this great opportunity ! Therefore it will be very important that you book your workshops EARLY.

La Jana

Some of you will remember Karen Rudiger from our last ICC in 2009. Karen is the founder of the Rudiger Method, a method focusing on Body Education and research in Functional Anatomy, Biomechanics and Creative Science.

Unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to present Karen’s work at the full extend in 2009. The interest of the people in her work was so intense that we decided to give Karen more space for a more detailed presentation of her studies and separate individual workshops/treatments for our participants.

The feedback we got from those who saw Karen last time was incredible, especially from those who are dealing with certain back issues.

We are also very pleased to introduce to you
Frederick and La Jana from Germany. Both will perform in our Gala Show with quite an unusual performance concept. In addition Frederick and La Jana will hold a practical workshop demonstrating personal one to one partner coaching.

Famous contortionist and coach
Enkhee Tumendelger Smith - many of you will remember her as a coach and performer from recent ICCs - will present a new contortion show, in which you might recognize one or the other world class contortionist. This is meant as a special tribute to the ICC and we are very grateful and honored by all the effort and devotion these wonderful artists are putting into our event.

This also goes for lovely Stephanie Castellone aka Stella Marie. You will remember her from the ICC 2006 in Las Vegas, where she had one of her first big performances. You will not recognize that then ‘Newcomer’ anymore. Stephanie has developed into a fully professional performing artist. A very impressing career in deed.

Another highlight during our convention will be some scheduled side shows during the 3 days of the event. These shows will take place during the day in the Sunset Theatre. Well - it looks like we are going to keep you all busy again with lots of different activities going on throughout the ICC 2011.

It is important to mention again that this year we are in a way combining two different concepts of recent ICC events. This ICC will - as in 2009 - strongly focus on training and coaching young students in ‘students only classes’.

At the same time we are offering various presentations in our conference rooms, workshops, photos sessions, question & answer boards as well as side shows for our general participants and fans. So please be aware that you might not be able to be at two places at one time.

On the second and third day of the convention we will have our TWO Gala shows - one for our young artists and one with professional artists.

This concept has lots of advantages for everyone. For our young talents it offers the chance to meet their ‘idols’ and already famous contortionists who they normally only know from the internet. It will hopefully encourage them to continue with their work and upcoming possibilities to become an internationally renown contortionist. This also applies - in a way - to the parents and everyone who is involved in the process.

That is all for now. Have a wonderful weekend !
